Aerospace power in Brazil’s international relations

The objective is to carry out an analysis of how aerospace power can influence Brazil’s international relations. From the perspective of defense diplomacy, the work seeks to show the actions developed by the FAB and how they impact the execution of foreign policy. Thus, it addresses the conceptual bases for the understanding of power and its influence in international relations, inserting it within a new international conjuncture of the distribution of power, where economic and cultural factors have a greater relevance in current interstate relations. Finally, the article focuses on the possibility of conducting a differentiated analysis of Brazilian aerospace power, contributing to a better understanding of the use of defense diplomacy as a tool for including Brazil in the international scenario.

Officer of the Brazilian Air Force, of the Aeronautical Infantry Officer Cadre, Master in Aerospace Sciences from the Air Force University, Bachelor in Military Sciences from the Air Force Academy. He completed the Command and General Staff Program and Master's Degree in Aeronautical Doctrine and Administration at ESFAP.
