The interview with Dr. Mijares focused on understanding the dynamics of transnational crime in the region. The primary objective was to understand the scenario in which the region finds itself. He began determining how the expansion and high presence of Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) in the countries is explained despite the low conflict in the region. Regarding this point, the interviewee pointed out that the central explanation lies in the weakness of the States.
