The domains of war: an approach to the new scenario of COVID-19

In this article, an analysis is made about the so-called Seventh Domain of war today, taking as a reference the categorization of the previous domains (land, sea, air, outer space, cyberspace and logistics) from a conceptual framework. As a first measure, a contextualization of the generalities is reflected, a historical review about the different domains of war and the way in which different societies have learned from their own experiences and those of others to take advantages over their adversaries, using different methods and techniques. They do not always conform to the principles of war and, as a consequence, expand their power and influence. Subsequently, an explanation of another category of war is made, exposing its etymology, its complexities and its effects on humanity, showing its casuistry in order to show the multidimensional effects that biological warfare has on the international system. Finally, a conjunctural analysis of the Seventh Domain is carried out in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic in the global system, exposing this problem from its origin, expansion, consequences and the management carried out by the different international organizations, of some States and some local approaches, showing the effects on the population due to good or bad governance practices, accompanied by some conclusions that close this document.
