1. FOCUS AND SCOPE
The Revista Estado, Paz y Sistema Internacional (REPS) is an open-access academic publication, reviewed by peers and published biannually by the Escuela Superior de Guerra "General Rafael Reyes Prieto" (ESDEG), the main joint thought center of the Colombian Military Forces, through its ESDEG University Press.
The REPS is an interdisciplinary journal, with a focus on the Social Sciences (Class 5I01, OECD / UNESCO), open to the discussion and dissemination of theoretical works and research on the national level and its relationship with the international scenario as spaces where the peace and security play a central role. Its purpose is the construction of spaces for analysis of the challenges facing Colombia and the different States in the international system in the face of current threats, international governance, the nature of wars, defense spending, administration, and military logistics. It seeks to generate proposals from the military and social sciences to contribute to the construction of peace from security approaches.
2. THEMATIC ORIENTATION AND TARGET AUDIENCE
Each issue of the Revista Estado, Paz y Sistema Internacional has four sections:
a) Debates: scientific and technological research articles.
b) Defiancies: reflection or review articles.
c) Perspectives: interviews with academics or decision makers.
d) Insights: book reviews.
The REPS is aimed at a broad audience that includes political decision-makers, members of the Armed Forces, public servants, professionals, teachers, researchers, and students of social sciences and other areas of knowledge, interested in security and defense.
3. TYPE AND LANGUAGE OF ARTICLES
The REPS publishes articles in Spanish and English in three categories:
a) Scientific and technological research: a document that presents in detail the original results derived from completed research and/or technological development projects.
b) Reflection: a document that offers research results from an analytical, interpretative, and critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
c) Review: a document that organizes, analyzes, and integrates the results of published or unpublished research on a field of science or technology, in order to account for progress and development trends.
4. FREQUENCY
The REPS is published every six months (January-June and July-December) in digital (e-ISSN: xxxx-xxxx) and printed (ISSN: 2981-3034) formats. The online version and the printed version are published on the penultimate day of the last month of the period of each issue, that is, June 30th for the January-June issue and December 30th for the July-December issue. Each of the REPS articles has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assigned for identification and referencing.
5. FINANCING
The Revista Estado, Paz y Sistema Internacional is an academic publication of the Escuela Superior de Guerra “General Rafael Reyes Prieto” (ESDEG), belonging, in turn, to the General Command of the Armed Forces of Colombia, which, as a public entity, is financed with the resources assigned by the national government. In order to maintain its critical and independent nature, the REPS does not accept financing from outside the ESDEG for its operation. Thus, the entire publication process of the journal is completely free of cost for the authors; There are no charges for the submission, processing, and publication of articles (no article submission or processing charge).
6. OPEN ACCESS, COPYRIGHT, AND LICENSE FOR PUBLICATION
The ESDEG University Press is a signatory of the Budapest Declaration and all its published contents are open access, with full recognition of the moral rights of the authors over their work. For its publication, the authors agree to assign the publication rights in favor of ESDEG and the ESDEG University Press in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons license: Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives.

In this way, authors and readers can copy and disseminate the article in the final version published online by the REPS, provided that the author (or authors) of the article is acknowledged and identified, and no commercial use is made of the final published article. , nor are they derivative works or modified versions.
7. CROSSMARK POLICY
The REPS uses Crossmark to keep its readers informed about any changes in published articles. CrossMark is an initiative of CrossRef to provide a standardized way to locate the official version of a document. The REPS recognizes the importance of maintaining the integrity of academic records for researchers and libraries, which is why it guarantees that your electronic file always has reliable content.

Clicking on the CrossMark icon informs the reader about the current status of the document as well as additional information about the publication history of the document. The contents that show the CrossMark icon are those contents published on the REPS website, current or future.
8. ARCHIVE OF THE CONTENTS
The REPS uses the Portico platform for the digital archive of published content. Likewise, the REPS allows authors to self-archive their article in the final version published online in institutional, thematic repositories, or personal web pages.
9. LIABILITY FOR CONTENT
The responsibility for the content of the articles published by the REPS corresponds exclusively to the authors. The positions and assertions presented are the results of an academic and investigative exercise that does not represent the official or institutional position of the Escuela Superior de Guerra “General Rafael Reyes Prieto”, the Comando General de las Fuerzas Militares de Colombia, or the Ministerio de Defensa Nacional.
