Maritime domain awareness and naval logistics

The article explores the concept of maritime domain awareness (MDA) and its relevance to maritime security and naval power, focusing on the Colombian Navy. It highlights the need for a global understanding of the maritime environment and the importance of integrating technological advances and information sharing. The fundamental role of naval bases in the aspects of maintenance and logistical support, and collaboration between public, private and international sectors is underlined. The research highlights the need to improve logistics systems, automate data integration and adopt international standards to address evolving maritime threats. It also addresses challenges and needs such as the development of intelligent systems, advanced technological capabilities, and cooperation between naval and air forces for effective joint operations.
